Oh dear. This sounds like the cry of a highly frustrated baker. Are you going to post pictures of the meteor cake and the naughty second version? I wish I could figure out what happened. Marie
Hi Vicki, i think if you gonna try the 3rd time, do it in a cupcake size like mine..i think the smaller the cake, the less the centre will sink in and the whole cake will bake through evenly imo. I noticed that cakes baked in 9" pan the center of the cake turned out seemingly wet & dense from the photos. Mine didn't so my guess was because mine was baked in a smaller cupcake size.
Oh, I feel your pain! I hate when things don't work out in the kitchen, especially when you try multiple times and follow the recipe exactly... I'm sure there will be many flops in the course of this bake-through, but it doesn't make it any less frustrating when it happens! I don't dare ask... are you going for number 3? :)
