The Case of the Disappearing Lemon Cake
Yesterday my nine and half year old
granddaughter
wanted to bake.
She's been baking
Rose's recipes
with me
since before
her
second birthday.
So we made the
Q&E
Cream Cheese Butter Cake
She had a blast.
There are no pictures.
Alas,
there is no cake.
After cutting for a
side picture
which of course
involved tasting,
she pleaded
to take it home
for a barbecue.
How could I refuse?
I will say
from the taste testing
this cake
is amazing.
Now I'm making
a second one
for my brother's
birthday.
The Lemon Curd
Buttercream frosting
is delectable.

Mine is gone too!
ReplyDeleteMine is also gone!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, I'm going to have to make this cake one day after reading the "gone" comments… high praise indeed!!
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful! Your granddaughter must have been so thrilled she baked such a wonderful cake!
ReplyDeleteShe was and now that she's older, she can do so many of the steps herself. Good practice weighing ingredients, too. Cost one broken egg on the floor but it was worth it!
DeleteYour one side picture shows off the gorgeous texture of the cake. How fun to bake with your granddaughter!
